John Burlet, Level 2 Coach, BVC Head Coach
John started playing volleyball in France at the age of 12 and has been passionately dedicated to the sport ever since. As he developed into a strong player, he began his coaching career at 15, assisting high-level coaches with drills and learning the nuances of coaching. He applied these skills by coaching his 7-year-old nephew. In his 20s, John moved to Sussex, where he continued to excel as a player, even winning a championship with his then 18-year-old nephew. John has coached numerous teams to success, rebuilt the club after COVID, and currently coaches adult and junior teams, while also mentoring other coaches. He is fully qualified and experienced in working with both juniors and adults and is highly respected in the field.

Leo Song, Level 2 Coach
Leo started his volleyball journey at age 13, and has been constantly seeking to widen his horizons. While playing for his university volleyball teams during undergraduate and postgraduate studies, he was also club president and secretary, and had also completed level 4 refereeing and UKCC level 2 coaching courses. As well as coaching one team for BVC, he is currently also the head coach for University of Brighton women’s team. Leo’s primary goals include maximising accessibility to volleyball at all levels, building team chemistry, and facilitating player progression.

Enzo Vong, Assistant Coach
Enzo has been playing volleyball for about 10 years, primarily as a libero. He has played for Macau’s national team and the University of Sussex.
He is a Volleyball England Level 1 coach and a Grade IV referee. Recently, Enzo started coaching to share his love for volleyball and inspire others to enjoy the sport.

Ross Walker, Assistant Coach
Ross has been playing volleyball for eight years. His passion for the sport began during university, where he played indoor volleyball for three years. Afterwards, he transitioned to beach volleyball with some interruptions due to lockdowns. Recently, Ross rekindled his love for indoor volleyball and is now both a player and assistant coach for BVC, entering the second full season with the club and eagerly anticipating what’s to come.
